A Few Words About Brook Roberts

Early Years

Brook Roberts has hosted THOUSANDS of fun filled hours of LIVE TV, starting at the age of 18 as a news reporter at the local CBS news affiliate in her hometown of Roseburg, Oregon. Her recent accomplishment of pitching, co-producing and starring in her own reality show, The Good Buy Girls on TLC was the result of years of hard work and dedication. This reality docu-series pulled back the curtain and showcased the inner-workings of a national home shopping network, and Brook was THRILLED when TLC bought 12 straight-to-series episodes.

The Amazing Race

Her First Big Break

Roberts received her first big break as a finalist in season 17 of CBS’ The Amazing Race. This led to guest appearances on The Early Show and Entertainment Tonight. Roberts and her teammate, Claire Champlin became an overnight sensation when their infamous “watermelon head shot” video was leaked on YouTube and was quickly picked up by everyone from CNN to E’s The Soup.

Lead Anchor

This former Miss Oregon covered the nightly news as lead Anchor at KPIC-TV, only to move onto the red carpet in Las Vegas. There she worked as the host of It’s Vegas Baby for the Las Vegas Television Network. Combining her passion for television and fashion, it was only natural for Brook to pursue a career in home shopping. Roberts found her niche instantly, selling genuine gemstone jewelry. She quickly immersed herself in the world of gemology by travelling to Thailand, a gemstone connoisseur’s paradise, where she hosted a documentary on the jewelry trade. No stranger to documentary work, Roberts has also produced and starred in several documentaries featuring everything from fish hatcheries in Panama to churches in Brazil. This gemstone boot camp proved successful, with Brook gaining certification from BOTH the Gemological Institute of America and the Diamond Council.

Roberts spent the next six years as a lead host, producer, expert, spokesperson and sales representative for THREE nationally syndicated home shopping networks. She began with Gems TV, moved to Jewelry Television and then to DSN Jewelry, presenting energetic programming to over 100-million homes on Dish, Direct TV and cable networks throughout the nation. At Gems TV, Roberts was chosen to be the network spokesperson, which included everything from covering New York Fashion Week, filming a mini-series at Gemstone tradeshows and working with Badgley Mischka on their first home shopping jewelry stint.

A true outdoor enthusiast at heart, Brook still found the time to work as a host and producer for the Reno-Tahoe Minute, an outdoor lifestyle segment while working at Gems TV.

Product Expert

It is only natural for Brook to graduate from jewelry and into all things product related. While creating and pitching TLC’s The Good Buy Girls, she immersed herself in becoming a beauty, fitness, home décor and lifestyle expert. .

Brook not only sells products on television, she sources, negotiates the deal and then produces the show! This catapulted Brook into the product expert arena. Her product knowledge has led to spots on The Daily Buzz, Oxygen’s Life Love Shopping, TLC, Yahoo,, LA Weekly, and New York Daily News, just to name a few!

With over 10 years of on-air experience and THOUSANDS of LIVE unscripted and unedited shows, Brook is an expert television host. Roberts still spends up to four hours a night hosting LIVE with no commercial breaks or teleprompter in sight. However, if she needs to work a teleprompter, she can recount her old news days. Brook’s knowledge and experience as a host, writer, producer, and editor, combined with her ability to CONNECT with her audience, makes her a chameleon in the television arena. Whether it is national home-shopping television, anchoring, reporting and producing hard news and entertainment news, Brook can host it all. With an extensive background in writing and producing national segments and shows, local news, infomercials, and commercials, Brook can write it all as well!
